The 80s are over, and it’s time to put the past behind us.
The New Year’s Eve festivities have kicked off with the first ever Horror Movie Festival in the UK, which has just launched in Glasgow, Scotland.
A total of 25 of the most influential, original, and controversial horror movies of the past 15 years are on display.
From the films of Wes Craven to the cult classics of The Nightmare Before Christmas, it’s a year full of great films that fans have been waiting for.

The festival will be taking place on the second Saturday of every month.
The films that will be screened are: The Shining (1979), Halloween (1978), The Ring (1979) The Dark Knight (1980), The Thing (1982), The Last House on the Left (1984), The Mummy (2005), The Exorcist (1973), The Blair Witch Project (1973) and The Thing 2 (2004).
There will be a handful of screenings per city, but all of them will be in Glasgow and are available on demand.
If that doesn’t sound like enough of a list, the festival will also be running screenings in cities across the UK.
This is the first time in 20 years that a Horror Movie festival has been held in the USA.
As we head into 2019, we look back on the best horror films of the decade, from The Shining to The Blair’s Revenge, to The Thing and The Exocet.
